What data do I need to request a birth certificate online?
In general, citizens who need a copy of their birth certificate online must provide some information. This is done both to create the registration in the Civil Registry and to issue the document. The list below presents the main ones to help you organize yourself:
- Full name;
- Date of birth;
- Individual Registration Number;
- Father's full name (if applicable);
- Mother's full name;
- Registry number;
- Book, page and term of the original certificate (optional).
Using this information, you can request a printed or digital version of the second copy of your birth certificate. Commonly, book, sheet and term data are essential in organizing the registry office responsible for the first copy, and also for the Civil Registry to locate the original document in the system.
In the original document, this information is located on the first line of the birth certificate, or after the textual part. This data is also important because there may be a record with the same book, page and term in another registry office. This way, you can avoid confusion and bureaucratic problems.
