What You’ll Do Day-to-Day
As a Vision Mate volunteer, you’ll meet with a person who is blind or partially sighted once a week to help with daily activities.
Your responsibilities might include reading, helping with shopping, general errands, and accompanying your match on walks.
Socializing and companionship are central to this role, so you’ll also engage in friendly conversation and provide supportive company each visit.
The position requires a commitment of around two hours per week, typically for a period of six months.
You won’t need specialized experience, just empathy, reliability, and a willingness to learn about accessible living.
